London opened marginally weaker on Wednesday, continuing the softer trend seen towards the end of Tuesday's session, with retailers in focus in the early going.
The index was 1.5 points, or 0.03%, lower at 6,012 shortly after opening. High street fashion chain Next said it remained on course to meet full-year profit forecasts despite estimating the snow chaos lost it £22m of full-price sales in the run-up to Christmas. It added 27p to £20.42. Elsewhere, fast-growing pizza delivery firm Domino's Pizza will deliver an extra topping of profits after a strong finish to the year.
