BNY Mellon Asia chief relocates to run US ETF unit

BNY Mellon Asset Management's Asia Pacific head has quit to run the firm's ETF business, Mellon Capital, in San Fransisco.

The US bank says Asia remains a strategic priority for the group as business in the region is growing at four times the rate of the US David Jiang, Bank of New York Mellon Asset Management's former head of business for Asia Pacific, has moved to San Francisco to head the global sales team at Mellon Capital, an ETF asset manager. In the meantime, BNY Mellon's asset management team in Asia Pacific will report to Alan Mearns, chief executive of BNY Mellon Asset Management International who, in turn, reports into Mitchell Harris, interim head of BNY Mellon Asset Management.
