Fundsmith appoints retail sales director

Terry Smith's new Fundsmith asset manager has appointed former SLI investment director Conrad Rey as its sales director to intermediaries.

Rey, who joins institutional sales director Catherine Evans at the new group, will be responsible for marketing to IFAs, wealth managers and multi-managers. He was previously a sales manager at Gartmore and Prudential-Bache Securities. "Since our launch on 2 November, we have had a tremendous response from UK advisers and their clients, and Conrad's longstanding relationships with these investors will be invaluable to us," Smith says. "We have struck a chord with those who wish to invest for the long term alongside me on the same terms."
