Shaughnessy joins PICA management board

The Pension Income Choice Association (PICA) has appointed Fidelity UK managing director Gary Shaughnessy to its management board.

The association, which is lobbying government to make the open market option compulsory, has a management board of representatives from Living Time, LV=, MGM Advantage, Partnership and Bluefin Group. Shaughnessy comments: "People are living longer and need to be more financially self-reliant in their later years so the choice they make on how to turn their pension pot into a source of retirement income will have a significant effect on their future quality of life.
