Vanguard launches property ETF

Vanguard Investments Australia has launched an ETF offering exposure to the domestic listed property market, with the aim of capturing market returns before costs and tax.

The Vanguard Australian Property Securities index ETF replicates the S&P/ASX 300 A-Reit index, providing diversified, low-cost and tax efficient access to property as an asset class. The listed property sectors represented by the index include retail, retail, office, industrial, tourism, and infrastructure. Vanguard ETF product manager Robyn Laidlaw says: "In an environment where costs are playing an increasingly important role, investors are gravitating toward transparent investment options at minimal cost."
