The Dow plunged 1% in early trade today following German Chancellor Angela Merkel's warning the euro could collapse.
At about 11.20 GMT, the index was down more than 127 points, or 1.21%, to 10,383.53. Earlier on Wednesday, Merkel warned Europe is facing its greatest crisis in decades and could see a possible collapse of the euro. "If the euro fails, then Europe fails," she said. Caterpillar (down 3.13%) and Boeing (down 2.28%) are leading the slide, whilst banking stocks including JP Morgan (up 0.79%) and Bank of America (up 0.69%) are amongst the day's early winners.
