Political parties slammed for 'bland' pension manifestos

The three main political parties' manifesto pledges on pensions have been dismissed as "bland" with no commitments and offering "nothing explicit" by pensions experts.

The Professional Pensions' Pension Commission - launched last week - includes heavy hitters Barnett Waddingham senior partner Adrian Waddingham (pictured), Society of Pension Consultants president elect Kevin LeGrand and BESTrustees chairman Alan Pickering. All three said the pension pledges from Labour, the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats showed a marked absence of detail.
