Advisers predict rise in offshore sales

Market volatility will not damage demand for offshore products, advisers say.

Skandia International asked around 700 advisers - 400 in the UK and 270 overseas - about the effect of market volatility on their business.  Results suggest 77% of overseas advisers are expecting an increase in sales of offshore investment products over the next 12 months, which is a 6% increase compared to last year. Just 15% of advisers expect sales levels to stay the same and only 8% are expecting a drop-off. In the UK, the majority (76%) forecast offshore products sales will remain the same - with 15% predicting an increase. Less than a tenth - 9% - foresee a decline in desire...
