MPC likely to pump extra £25bn into economy-papers

The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) is likely to vote to pump at least an additional £25bn into the economy, reports The Times.

A poll of 62 City economists showed two thirds expect the MPC to vote to extend the £175bn scheme of quantitative easing (QE) at its rate meeting next week. However, analysts were split over whether the limit would be raised by £25bn or £50bn, with £25bn winning by only one vote.
