BA leads FTSE rise

The markets continued to rise this morning with the FTSE 100 climbing 36.62 points to 5,160.75 in early trading.

The confident start follows a robust performance yesterday which saw the index posting its highest close in nearly a year on Wednesday; up 82 points, or 1.6%, at 5,124.1. British Airways was one of biggest early movers jumping 8.50 points or 3.88% to 235.90 after the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said it has seen "early signs" of an upturn in the number of passengers traveling in premium seats.
