More than six in ten consumers feel they have a sufficient understanding of pensions to choose an appropriate plan for themselves, research suggests.
According to figures collated by Morningstar for Financial Planning Week, 61% feel confident selecting a pension, with only 39% saying they would not feel able to choose a suitable policy without advice. But Alan Dick, a certified financial planner with Forty Two Wealth Management, says guidance may not always be necessary.
