Simon Ellis to join LGIM as retail MD

Former Fidelity multi-manager head Simon Ellis is joining Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) as managing director for retail business, Professional Adviser understands.

It is believed Ellis will have overall responsibility for the group's operations and distribution of its fund range. Ellis lead multi-manager development and distribution at Fidelity between May 2006 and January 2009. Prior to that, he was UK retail head at Axa Investment Managers following a spell at Henderson Global Investors. Ellis is also currently managing director of the Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) and is leading a review into the future of the organisation.
