ETFS records 85% growth in global assets

ETF Securities has recorded 85% growth in its global assets under management to exceed $13bn, since the beginning of this year.

The ETC and ETF provider says that the substantial increase in AUM is due to the continuing strong inflows into commodity ETCs and commodity-equity ETFs. ETFS says that its physically-backed gold ETCs have seen the largest inflows, gaining over $1.4bn since the start of the year. It adds that its gold ETCs hold more gold than any other gold exchange-traded product in Europe. Natural gas and agriculture have also proved popular asset classes, with ETFS Natural Gas and ETFS Agriculture ETCs reaping $800m and $600m respectively, in the same period.
