Aviva hires Wood from Artemis

Aviva Investors has recruited Artemis UK hedge fund manager John Wood to run its UK Growth portfolio.

He replaces Chris Murphy on the fund and will also work developing the group's institutional UK equities business. The one-time Deutsche Asset Management head of UK equities starts on 1 October, where he will work among a 12-member team which manages about £6bn. Artemis Special Situations fund manager Derek Stuart has already assumed Wood's responsibility for the hedge fund.
