Financials lead Dow ahead of earnings reports

Financials dominate the top spots on the Dow Jones this morning at the start of a week when a number of high profile earnings reports are due.

The index has been relatively flat so far, only dipping slightly by 8.32 points (0.10%) to 8,138.20. Banks will be one of the sectors in focus with reports due out from Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan Chase, Bank of America (BoA) and Citigroup later this week. BoA is leading this morning with a gain of 4.21% to reach $12.38, while American Express and J.P. Morgan Chase are up 2.89% to $23.89 and 2.16% to $33.04 respectively. US conglomerate, General Electric, is also due to release its earnings report this week and is up 1.85% to $10.98.
