L&G ups immediate approval on protection cases

Legal & General (L&G) says more than half of protection applications are now placed on risk immediately thanks to its new online tracking tool.

It says OLP Connect's in-built underwriting decision-making capability has boosted immediate acceptance rates to 52.3% from 48.3% two months ago. OLP Connect, which builds on L&G's existing OLP platform and was launched in April, offers advisers a clear view of the progress of all an adviser's applications, wherever they are in the process, seven days a week. "We've got the best quote and apply system on the market, which has allowed us to the raise the bar when it comes to getting applicants accepted without delay," L&G protection claims director Russ Whitworth says.
