Insight's Multi Asset team is taking a cautious stance on the recent equities rally and is seeking to protect its gains from future significant market falls by taking out options on its FTSE 100 holdings.
Former Insight investment director Steve Waddington, who has been co-manager on the multi-asset team's five funds since February, says exchange traded covered options on the FTSE 100 will allow the funds to capitalise on gains if they reach a certain point, rather than risk a sudden correction.
