Invesco Perpetual's Neil Woodford stood as the most popular fund manager on Fidelity FundsNetwork in October, though it was UK gilt funds which made the most ground during the month.
Woodford's High Income and Income funds were first and third on the list of bestselling funds though all channels and product wrappers, separated only by Fidelity's own cash fund. Overall, UK Equity Income funds made a 13% gain in share of sales compared with September. Funds housed in the UK All Companies sector showed a 36% rise in share of sales versus September, through this increase was tiny compared to a massive 223% upturn in UK Gilts as investors sought shelter from the equity markets.
