Uncertainty driving Euro markets - Credit Suisse

EUROPEAN markets are currently being driven by sentiment and uncertainty, rather than fundamentals, according to Credit Suisse.

Outlining his outlook and investment themes, Credit Suisse's head of European equities for asset management, Cesar Perez, said: "We believe that valuations in European equities markets are attractive in both absolute and relative terms, and that companies in Europe remain in a very healthy position with generally low levels of gearing and strong balance sheets." While acknowledging the need for credit markets to stabilize, lest they adversely impact the real economy, Perez added that volatility brought with it opportunity.
