Asia Pacific climbs HNWI league

THE Asia-Pacific region now has 27.1pc of the world's high net worth individuals (HNWI), according to new research.

Merrill Lynch and Capgemini’s Asia-Pacific Wealth Report, also showed that HNWIs in Asia-Pacific looked for diversified asset allocation. They preferred equities and alternative investments and invested almost a quarter of their portfolios into these asset classes. More than half their assets were invested within the Asia Pacific region, over a quarter in North America with the balance spread across Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
