WH Ireland extends fund range to UK

STOCKBROKER WH Ireland is to progress its fund management capability with the launch of its own UK income vehicle.

The fund is scheduled for launch in June, subject to FSA approval, and will be managed by James Igoe, who joined WH Ireland in January from an equities role at Edward Jones Investments. Igoe will use covered call options to both enhance performance and protect against a downturn in markets, and will aim to achieve a target yield of around 5-6pc - the strategy will be similar to Schroders Income Maximiser and Defensive funds.
