First State launches infrastructure fund

FIRST State Investments is to launch Global Listed Infrastructure fund, which will aim to deliver inflation-protected income and outperform the S&P Global Infrastructure index over a rolling three-year period.

The fund is scheduled to open for retail investment on October 8 and will be managed by Peter Meany, head of global infrastructure securities, who will work alongside Andrew Greenup, portfolio manager. The portfolio will target listed infrastructure and related stocks. The latter comprise around 900 stocks in the infrastructure-related Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) sub-sectors.
