Consumers unaware of IHT implications - IFAs

THE majority of IFAs do not believe their clients fully comprehend the implications of IHT, according to research complied by Close Investments.

Almost 200 IFAs responded to an IHT survey issued by the company in February 2008. The results highlighted that inheritance tax was a key concern, with 84pc of IFAs believing that their clients did not fully comprehend the implications of the tax. 95pc of IFAs surveyed agreed that more education or information was needed, as increasing numbers of people found that they came within the scope of inheritance tax.
