Aviva mulls European equity fund launch

Aviva Investors is considering the launch of a European Equity fund for UK investors.

The company has recently announced it is looking to launch a UK absolute return fund to take advantage of large fund flows into this area. UK managing director, retail, John Clougherty says the group has been analysing its offerings from Aviva Investors worldwide to see if opportunities exist to establish new funds in the UK market. Clougherty is meeting with his French counterparts this week to discuss the idea of a European Equity fund, although there is no indication as to a potential timeline for a fund launch.
