STANDARD Life's UK Equity Unconstrained fund has accelerated to the top spot in T. Bailey's Growth portfolio after impressing the multi-manager team with its Matrix quantitative investment model.
Jason Britton, who manages the £132.5m fund of funds, said his was the first multi-manager portfolio to invest in the fund in March this year - six months after its launch. He said: “We liked the Matrix style for some time and in this fund it was being used in its purest form. That, combined with the fund manager Wesley McCoy, meant it was highly attractive to us. “Since March it has been ranking in the first percentile of the UK All Companies sector so we are pleased about that."
