SIG's Spectrum funds take £185m in first year

Skandia Investment Group's range of Spectrum funds has taken in £185m since launch one year ago.

The six risk-targeted multi-manager offerings focus on maximising investment returns within set volatility targets, ranging from levels three to eight. Spectrum 5, with a targeted volatility of 9.95% to 11.90%, has been the most popular fund with £60m of inflows. Graham Bentley, head of investment marketing at Skandia, says the key benefit of a risk-controlled vehicle is it gives investors a fuller picture of the amount of risk they are taking so as to help them avoid surprises down the road.
