It is probably stating the obvious to say that 2008/9 will be a year of sitting tight rather than a year of new launches. Gartmore's European Absolute Return fund (under the stewardship of Roger Guy) being shelved despite an initial launch date for end of October this year, is no doubt indicative of a cautious mood in the investment world.
