SWIP appoints MD for Europe

Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) has hired Christian Elsmark as managing director for Europe.

Reporting to Simon Wombwell, director of sales and marketing, Elsmark will focus on expanding SWIP's European client base and is due to take up the newly created position in October 2008. Prior to joining SWIP, Elsmark was managing director of FundQuest, the multi management business of BNP Paribas Investment Partners. Before this he was head of investment services at T. Rowe Price Global Investment Services and has also held roles at JP Morgan Asset Management and Rothschild Asset Management. Wombwell said: "We are very much looking forward to Christian joining us.
