New Friends business up £800m

FRIENDS Provident's UK life and pensions new business is up by almost £800m on last year's totals.

The company completed an extra £765m of new UK business compared to 2005, a rise of 34pc which took it’s total new business to £3,039m, while the group pensions business was also up 46pc to £1,633m. Other increases included a rise of 8pc on the protection side bringing the total to £322m,while investment and individual pensions (excluding DWP rebate premiums) business similarly rose by 10pc and 64pc, to £532m and £230m respectively.
