Investors should focus on company news and not macroeconomics, according to Colin McLean, founder of SVM Asset Managment.
He noted that great faith was being placed on the potential for economic recovery, underpinned by falling commodity prices and the prospect of interest rate cuts. However, McClean questioned whether investors were right to anticipate recovery quite so soon.
