MARKS & Spencer Money has appointed HSBC's investment team to oversee a new ethical multi-manager portfolio.
The M&S Money Ethical fund will invest in companies which make a positive contribution to the environment and community and will avoid those involved in activities such as tobacco manufacture and gambling. HSBC’s multi-manager team will oversee the portfolio but has appointed Jupiter and Sinopia to invest the fund. Jupiter will use its in-house research team to invest in companies which either actively manage their own environmental and social impacts or those providing solutions to environmental or social problems.
