Legal & General has produced an update for IFAs on the implications age discrimination regulations will have on group risk benefits.
The update gives an overview of the regulations, which are due to take effect from 1 October 2006, and highlights the need for employers to seek legal advice before making any changes to their current group risk scheme arrangements. It also provides a summary of how potential direct and indirect discrimination will have a significant effect on the benefits employers may offer their employees and outlines the exemptions and objective justification which may apply.
