Emerging markets equities front February fightback

Equities swung back into favour in February as investors regained faith in the emerging markets, the latest Morningstar research suggests.

The best performing Morningstar category last month was Latin America Equity, bouncing back from a 7.5% loss in January to post a 12.8% return. Greater China Equity also made up ground, climbing 8.1%, followed by the Russia Equity category with an 8% increase and China Equity which was 7.9% ahead. It wasn’t all good news for the burgeoning Asian region, with India Equity down 1.9%, following a 14.7% loss in January.
