Female investors trump males in bear market

Female private investors have managed their investments "far better" than men in the unprecedented market conditions, research suggests.

According to a study by DigitalLook.com, women have restricted their stock market losses to just a third of the average male private investors' losses this year. In the last 12 months, the FTSE All Share fell by 13.4% while, according to the website's study of 2,000 portfolios from male and female investors, the average share portfolio managed by women lost an average of just 3%. However, portfolios managed by men lost an average of 9.5% a share.
