RPS considers move beyond special risks

Risk Placement Services is considering extending its offering beyond the ‘special risks' market to help improve sales of income protection and critical illness insurance.

RPS specialises, at present, in helping find life insurance for people who are deemed to be ‘special risks’ by the insurance industry because of their medical history, lifestyle or the need for a large amount of cover. But Mike Owen, panel provider manager at RPS, says the firm is considering providing a service for advisers who do not concentrate purely on special risks and who may shy away from advising on CI and IP because of the products’ complexities.
