NatWest Three to appear in court - papers 6 Sept

The NatWest Three are to appear in a Houston court today for a hearing which could determine the date they will stand trial on fraud charges relating to a company sale involving Enron, reports the Daily Telegraph .

The men – David Bermingham, Giles Darby and Gary Mulgrew – could also attempt to alter their bail conditions, as at present they cannot leave the Houston area or associate with one another. The FBI alleges the three cheated their former employer Greenwich NatWest, now part of the Royal Bank of Scotland, out of about £3.9m. Separately, the Senate foreign relations committee will meet tomorrow to debate the extradition treaty between the UK and the US, says the paper.
