YBS to launch new pension based accounts

Yorkshire Building Society is launching a new savings account which specifically targets pensioners.

The new account, branded as Access Saver for Pensioners, will launch on 7th March and offers a gross rate of 3.65% on a minimum balance of £50, along with four withdrawals per month. While there are no barriers on age requirement, a person must pay in the income from either a state or private pension. YBS says the new account comes as a result of a large number of post office closures and the phasing out of passbook accounts.
