Only a quarter of UK adults believe it is important to make future protection provisions when starting a family, according to research from Co-operative Insurance.
The survey of 1,500 25-34 year olds reveals 57% would not be able to afford their monthly outgoings if they were off work for a prolonged period of time. Moreover, only a quarter (26%) feel it is important to make future protection provisions when starting a family, while one in 10 (11%) think getting married is an important time to assess their protection requirements.
