Isa sales regain ground on dismal September

Net Isa sales made a small comeback in October compared with the previous month, but are still down 83% on the previous year, reveal Investment Management Association statistics.

Net Isa sales did climb to £37.4m from net Isa withdrawals of £23.5m in September, but they are still down substantially on the £221.6m raised in October 2003. IMA stats state net retail sales also rose 35% on September from £272m to £366.7m but are still down over a third from £559.3m in October 2003. Gross retail sales also rose 1% from £256.2bn to £260.2bn, while gross Isa funds amassed £35.6bn compared with £35.3bn.
