FSA sent up in web spoof

A spoof website has sprung up on the internet which claims to be the voice of the Financial Services Authority but anonymously presents the financial regulator in a bad light.

Called financialservicesauthority.org, the site is written in the first person as though created by an FSA official - thought to be represented in the image of a woman - but the site actually criticises its role and actions since its inception by side-swiping the authority for its apparent activity in relation to endowments, fraud and low-cost investments. More specifically, it appears to accuse the FSA of employing fraudsters, making reference to “Ronnie” Kray and the Enron scandal.
