Pioneer bins 'wet signature' across IP range

Income protection (IP) provider Pioneer today unveils a signature-less application process across its entire product range.

Clean cases will go on risk the same day as the electronic application is received, it says, adding a signature will only be required if further medical information is needed. Previously, online customers would also have to send in a signed declaration before the policy started. Pioneer is the latest provider to scrap the need for a wet signature, with Friends Provident, Bupa and Axa also cutting it for standard online applications.
