IFAs 'eye more divorce business'

Almost 95% of IFAs want to increase their pensions and divorce business, according to research from Winterthur.

The provider highlights many adviser opportunities lie in the divorce market as pension benefits come second in value to the martial home and about 148,000 couples divorced in the UK between 2005 and 2006, according to the Office of National Statistics. However, Winterthur’s research suggests IFAs need additional practical advice to understand divorce processes before they can expand into the area, an issue Winterthur is focusing on in its pensions and divorce-themed workshops.
