Investors flock to gilts in October

UK Gilt funds saw a huge 223% upturn in share of sales on FundsNetwork compared to September as investors flocked to safe havens.

The most popular funds in this sector throughout the month were Allianz PIMCO Gilt Yield and M&G Gilt & Fixed Interest Income fund. The UK All Companies sector also had a strong month with a 36% rise in sales share. Meanwhile, Invesco Perpetual's Neil Woodford was the most popular fund manager on in October. His High Income and Income funds were first and third on the list of bestselling funds though all channels and product wrappers, separated only by Fidelity's own Cash fund.
