AXA Protection pilots medicals in pharmacies

AXA is piloting medical screening in pharmacies in a bid to speed up and simplify applications for its protection products.

The screenings, which are not obligatory to consumers, will involve non-invasive techniques such as needle-free skin tests, saliva tests and hair analysis. AXA says the six-month pilot will determine whether the screenings are more convenient than traditional nurse or GP appointments. Mike Taylor, AXA’s chief underwriter, says: “As many pharmacies are open during evenings and weekends, pharmacy testing should be more convenient for most consumers who can arrange a test near their home or work, which avoids disrupting their daily routines to fit around a nurse’s or GP’s schedule. “Faster ...
