Kazakhmys has lost 27p, or 2.3%, to 1,146, Antofagasta has slipped 8.5p, or 2.1%, to 400.5p and Vedanta Resources has retreated 31p, or 2.4%, to 1,271p. Copper prices in Shanghai fell amid concern the US economy is slowing. BP has tumbled 5.5p, or 0.9%, to 619.5p, BG Group has dropped 2.5p, or 0.4%, to 714p and Cairn Energy has fallen 13p, or 0.6%, to 2,037p. Crude oil fell for a fifth day in New York and London on speculation supplies from the Middle East will avoid any disruption caused by the conflict in Lebanon.
