L&G finance director moves to rival Synesis

Legal & General has lost its finance director of UK operations to bulk annuity rival Synesis Life.

The company, which has been set up by ex-Prudential staff has appointed Rob Sewell as Finance Director, and will join the Board of Synesis Life in September 2007, after spending six years at Legal & General. While at Legal & General, which with Prudential formed a duopoly in the bulk annuity market until last year, Sewell was finance director of the UK operations with responsibility for the financial performance of the UK businesses, including Life & Pensions, General Insurance and the Retail Unit Trust business.
