New Star's Steer joins Artemis

Tim Steer will join the Artemis multi cap team to run a hedge fund in April, the asset manager has confirmed.

The New Star UK Alpha Fund manager will leave the company, once it completes its merger with Henderson, and withdraw from retail management, having run the vehicle since it launched in November 2001. He has experience in the hedge fund space, having also managed New Star's Gemini fund since December 2003. Artemis product and communications director Nick Wells says Steer will take up his role at an unspecified time after April.
