The Hartford appoints Europe CEO

The Hartford Financial Services Group has appointed Marc Lieberman as president and CEO of its European insurer, Hartford Life.

Lieberman will be responsible for strategic direction, general management and profit and loss of Hartford Life which offers retirement savings and income products in the UK. He will report to Peter Smyth, executive vice president of The Hartford’s International Markets Group, based in Connecticut. Smyth says: “Marc brings an international perspective to the European role which, coupled with his experience in running market-leading businesses, will be invaluable to The Hartford as we continue building our UK business and expanding our operations in a dynamic and growing market."
