BA sends FTSE higher

The FTSE 100 is slightly up in early trading with a rise of 19.4 points, or 0.31%, to 6,239.5 as oil prices have stabilised following last week's falls.

British Airways is posting the biggest gains so far with a rise of 1.73% to 558.25p, closely followed by Whitbread which is up 1.61% to £17.09, while Cairn Energy has gained 1.56% to £16.96. Enterprise Inns is also up 1.52% to £13.37, while miner Kazakhmys is up 1.38% to 310.31, although gains are being limited by Liberty International which is down 1.76% to £13.42. Although property stocks are the biggest fallers with Land Securities Group falling 2.5% to £22.26, while British Land is down 2.06% to £16.18, Slough Estates has slipped 2.04% to 767.5p, and Hammerson has fallen 1.37% to £1...
