Equity Trust buys part of E&Y's Luxembourg business

Equity Trust is to acquire Ernst & Young's Luxembourg domiciliation business and related corporate secretarial services.

The independent trust and fiduciary services group, which caters to high net worth individuals as well as intermediaries and corporations, says the deal is part of an ongoing strategy of acquiring “quality businesses”. Its decision to enter into a sale and purchase agreement for Ernst & Young’s Luxembourg domiciliation business follows deals over the last two years which has seen it buy the trust businesses of both Standard Chartered bank and ABN AMRO.
